Das D\u00f6rfchen, das seinen rauen und alten Charme bis heute gewahrt hat, ist Zeugnis einer l\u00e4ndlichen Siedlung, die vor mehr als 700 Jahren entstand und im Jahr 1822 zu einer unabh\u00e4ngigen Gemeinde wurde. Die Landwirtschaft war \u00fcber Jahrhunderte hinweg die einzige Erwerbsquelle der Dorfbewohnerinnen und -bewohner. Im Jahr 1850 erreichte die Einwohnerzahl mit 315 Personen ihren H\u00f6chststand. In Folge einer starken Auswanderung nach Kalifornien und Australien sank die Einwohnerzahl betr\u00e4chtlich, sodass das Dorf im Jahr 1950 nur mehr 70 Einwohnerinnen und Einwohner z\u00e4hlte. Heute leben nur noch elf Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner in der Gemeinde.
